Winter in Maine isn’t sleepy. It’s intimate.

It’s quiet trails. Wood smoke in the air. Pink sunsets over snow-covered fields. It’s the season where you don’t have to do everything - you just get to be together, and enjoy the peace.

If you’re planning a cozy cabin getaway in Winterport (near Bangor and the Midcoast Maine), here’s your couples guide to experiencing winter in a way that feels intentional, romantic, and a little bit magical.

Ski with an Ocean View

Camden Snow Bowl is one of the only ski areas in the country where you can see the ocean from the slopes. It’s charming, low-key, and perfect for couples who want a relaxed ski day followed by coco (or something stronger) and harbor views.

One of the best parts of staying here? Starting in 2027, You won't have to drive anywhere. Bring snowshoes and head out directly from your cabin door through woods and open fields. Bring a picnic and make an adventure of it!

Think candlelight, local ingredients, no pans to wash, and zero stress. It’s easy. It’s romantic. It feels indulgent - but cozy at the same time. We’re happy to share a list of trusted local chefs who cater intimate cabin dinners. Just reach out and we’ll connect you to the very best!

What About Acadia?

The Real Winter Luxury? Slowing Down.

The best winter moments aren’t scheduled.

  • Slow mornings with coffee and snow falling outside
  • Afternoon naps, following a long snowshoeing adventure
  • Cooking breakfast together in matching wool socks
  • Bundling up to go watch the stars from a frozen field
  • A private chef dinner right in the cabin (or a short drive to our local favorites: Timber, 11 Central, Blaze, and Mason's)
