Meadow Ridge Farm is a private, residential rental property. The owners live on-site and will assist with directing vendors on parking locations, power/water hookups, etc as needed.

All vendors are required to provide a COI 30 days prior to the event.

FAQ

Do you require insurance?

Yes. All vendors must provide a COI 30 days prior to working on site. If you do not hold insurance, you can obtain a one-day vendor policy from TheEventHelper.com

All events booked after 9/1/2024 are required to hire a bar service company from the MRF list of preferred vendors. If the catering company hired for dinner service also possess a liquor license, they may also serve/sell alcohol.

All persons/companies tending bar must show proof of insurance 30 days prior to the event. We require bar companies to have a minimum of 2 million in liability. If you do not have a current policy, you can obtain a one-day vendor policy through Event Helper Vendor Insurance. Please email your policy to info@mrfmaine.com

Non-alcoholic bar related items may be delivered and/or set up on the day prior to the event. Alcohol is NOT permitted to be set up or remain on site unattended. All alcohol provided by the bar service must be removed from the premises prior to 11:59pm on day of the event. If alcohol is to be left on the MRF property overnight, it must be approved in advance by the owners and it MUST be secured in a locked liquor cage or similar locking container. MRF has locking containers available for use upon request.

For alcohol sales, please note that the Town of Winterport only meets on the second Tuesday of each month to grant permits. Bar service companies are encouraged to apply for a permit with the town at least 3 months in advance to ensure the permit is approved in time.

"Brew Canoes" or similar are permitted if there is one staff member designated to monitor and ID as necessary.

MRF does not provide staff for bussing.

SPACE DETAILS

  • L-shaped bar area inside the barn measures approximately 9'
  • No ice maker. Chest freezer for ice storage is located in "catering prep" space (15' walk on crushed stone path, downhill, not suitable for carts)
  • Drinking water can be accessed from the "catering prep" space
  • There is a second bar area, located outdoors, that may be used for cocktail hour. This is a permanent fixture with power supplied. No appliances.
  • Dumpster for trash/bottles is located next to the garage
  • No garbage disposal; please strain all dumped drinks

Food trucks are permitted, and can bet set up on the lawn near the restrooms (adjacent to the large garage, where there is power access for 110V and 220V connections).

There is a "catering prep space" available; this is a 15'x30' area between the barn and the farmhouse with a concrete floor, double bay ss sink with potable water, and a residential size refrigerator/freezer. You may park in this area (in front of the roll up door). There is a stone path, uphill, that connects the prep space to the barn. It is not suitable for carts.

SPACE DETAILS

  • Tables are provided to clients, and clients determine how they are used. If you have requirements for buffet, coffee stations, etc, please notify your client what tables/sizes you will need. We have the following available: (2) 8'x30" farmhouse; (2) 6'x30" farmhouse; (1) 2'x30" farmhouse; (2) 8'x30" wood folding buffet
  • Dumpster for trash/bottles is located next to the garage
  • No garbage disposal
  • Sterno is permitted
  • There are 3 separate circuits in the buffet area of the barn, as well as in the "catering prep" space
  • Propane appliances may NOT be used inside the "catering prep" space. If you plan to cook on-site, please utilize a kitchen tent (not provided by MRF)
  • 220V is available upon request in the catering prep
  • Generator backup for power failure is for lights and water only, cannot support any catering use.

Catering

The ceremony area is located next the pond, approx 500' from the barn. Power is run from an extension cord connecting to a power pole outside the log cabin. You do not need a generator for the ceremony. You may set up wherever you like. This area is exposed to the elements; please bring appropriate weatherproofing supplies in the event of rain.

The barn has multiple circuits set up in each corner. MRF provides furniture to clients, but we do not reserve any for DJ/Band setup. If you have specific furniture requirements, please make this known to your client.

We are happy to invite you to tour the space during the off-season (November-May). Alternatively, you may visit anytime the day prior to the event.
